Description:
April 2013
A performance installation using the Microsoft XBox Kinect as a sensor to track a dancer’s movements and showing the output as visual projections. “Kine(c)tic” is so named because it uses the Kinect and is about movement (a play on the word “kinetic”). The “c” could stand for “coding” since the projections were created by computer programming code, or “connection” since the installation is about using the idea of telepresence to “connect” two parties remotely located at separate locations.
