Description:
A 3:43 min motion graphics done in the Processing language. I used sound clips of whales and dolphins and interjected some man-made noises. I want to tell a story in this video clip – that man-made noise in the oceans are killing the ceteceans (i.e. whales and dolphins). These creatures depend on their evolutionary acoustics to navigate, hunt, communicate and survive. However, man-made noise such as military sonar and shipping noise use the same frequency range and are loud enough to cause internal hemorrhaging in their acoustic organs. This results in mass stranding of ceteceans on beaches and puts a high stress on them for their survival.
