Trail of the Indonesian migrant worker

Description

There are about 60,000 Indonesian domestic workers working in Singapore households.

I followed my parent’s domestic worker one Sunday afternoon around Singapore at the places where Indonesian domestic workers usually spend their day off.

I used an iPhone app (EveryTrail) to record our journey (using GPS) and uploaded our journey as well as pictures taken along the way onto the Everytrail website. The pictures and captions tell a story of a spatial-cultural world of Singapore as seen through the eyes of an Indonesian domestic migrant worker.

This mini-project was done as part of a workshop which explores the technique of locative media to create artworks.
